Intense colors: blue lakes, white mountains, grayish rock, yellow grasslands. A destination where our senses come alive.
The Cordillera Huayhuash is one of the most striking mountain landscapes in South America and holds some of the most spectacular and most difficult peaks in the Andes.
Huayhuash is a remote range in central Peru. It is smaller and more compact than its neighbor, the Cordillera Blanca, but also more technical and farther from towns and roads. The range has six peaks above 6,000 meters and more than thirty that top 5,200 meters above sea level. Slender pyramids of ice and rock rise above grassy valleys dotted with glacial lakes, where a few herders live with their flocks.

During the late 1980s and early 1990s the range was closed to tourism because the Sendero Luminoso guerrillas were hiding in these ravines. That is why, in an area that is now open to travelers again, there are still plenty of untouched walls, with lots of possibilities for climbing new routes and exploring rarely visited valleys.

Mountains like Siula Grande, Carnicero, Trapecio, Jirishanca, Yerupaja, and Rondoy are the main stars. These peaks are steeped in the stories of great climbers such as Toni Egger, Walter Bonatti, Ricardo Cassin, Alex Lowe, Joe Simpson, and Simon Yates. Sacred mountains that never stop amazing us with their beauty.

Traveling to Peru means immersing yourself in Latin America. Enjoying its people, its food, its landscapes, and its way of life.
