Summer in motion: community, mountains and water in Bariloche
The holidays are coming, the days are getting longer, and summer is starting to push us outside. At Backcountry Cooperative (BCC), we want to make the most of this moment to invite you to get moving, share quality time in nature and bring more people into an active outdoor community connected to the place where we live.
This program comes from a simple idea: train, explore and enjoy Bariloche through its trails, mountains, rivers and lakes, alongside highly experienced leaders with a thoughtful approach to moving in nature. It's not just about doing sports, but about building real tools to move better, with more safety and enjoyment, in the environment that surrounds us.
How does it work?
We start in January. During the week we combine different disciplines, with sessions designed to build on each other progressively:
- In the afternoon: trail running and MTB outings.
- In the morning: kayak tours, connecting lakes and learning to navigate.
Each activity is led by highly experienced professionals who bring not only technique, but also a mindful way of being in the outdoors.
Trail Running
Genaro Crisóstomo
This is not just about going for a run in the mountains. Genaro is a coach and an AAGM Mountain Guide, and that dual role defines the focus of the project: training to move lighter, more efficiently and more safely in the mountains.
The training focuses on technique, using the terrain and endurance, with the goal of enjoying Bariloche's trails and planning longer, more demanding outings in the future.

MTB
Laura Nitzsche & Florencia Pintos
Their program combines MTB, downhill and bike touring, creating an ideal space to develop a range of skills on the bike.
Through varied routes and technical work, the goal is to build confidence, control and enjoyment, always guided by two professionals with deep experience in the discipline.

Touring Kayak
Nicolás Cantini
Kayaking invites us to slow down and discover Bariloche from the water. Connect lakes, read the landscape and learn the incredible skill that is navigation.
Nico Cantini, a leading figure and participant in numerous expeditions, will guide us along with his team to learn and go deeper into this activity in a safe, fun and mindful way.

A thoughtful program with purpose
Overall organization is led by Jeremías Palavecino, BCC co-founder, mountain and ski guide, and outdoor educator.
The planning is designed so you take away a real, well-crafted and purposeful experience, supported by a team with all the tools to help you connect with your place and with people who share the same drive to get outside.
In addition, all activities will include personalized training tailored to each discipline, led by Manuel Da Silva, coach of Argentina's Freestyle Ski Team.
Community over competition
This is not a group for racing or competing. It's a space to connect with local people and be part of an active community that will be on the move all summer and that, over time, will likely lead to multi-day trips.
Can you picture paddling a lake, hopping on your bike at the start of a trail and heading out on foot from there to a summit?
In an outdoor community, plans like these just happen.
How can you join?
The idea is that you can combine all three disciplines during the week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday).
If you can't make the whole week, you can also:
- Combine just trail running + MTB
- Join only touring kayak
- Or take part in MTB only
What matters is that you join in and experience these sports, which are practiced right in your city, as a community.
🎄 BCC Holiday Promos
To celebrate the holidays and bring more people into the movement, we're launching special discounts:
- 15% off if you sign up solo
- 20% off if you come with someone else or if you join all 3 activities
We look forward to seeing you out there, connecting with the nature that surrounds Bariloche and enjoying it from a new perspective.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to write to us.
