Itinerary

  1. Itinerary
  2. Day 1
    Arrival and Kickoff

Pickup at Bariloche (Argentina) or Osorno (Chile) airport and transfer to our lodging near Volcán Casablanca. The first night is for settling in, getting to know the group, and getting your gear ready for the days ahead.

  3. Day 2
    Volcán Casablanca

A warm-up day to dial in your gear at Antillanca. We climb 800 meters, crossing a crater with direct views of Puntiagudo and Osorno. It's your first dose of volcanic reality: snow, altitude, and a landscape you won't see coming. In the afternoon, we transfer to the mountain hut on Volcán Osorno at 1,400 m (4,600 ft) above sea level, with Lago Llanquihue in the background.

  4. Day 3
    Volcán Osorno

The main event of the first leg. Five hours of climbing, 1,400 meters of vertical gain, skins as far as conditions allow, and crampons on the final stretch to the summit. Up top, the whole world looks small. Below, one of the most epic descents in southern Chile is waiting to be skied.

  5. Day 4
    Traverse North

Travel day to Pucón through Araucaria forests and Valdivian rainforest. The landscape changes, the scale changes, and the anticipation builds. Arrive at the hotel, relax, and prepare for Chile's most famous volcano. Note: for those who choose Option 1, this is the return day to Bariloche.

  6. Day 5
    Volcán Villarrica

Ascent to the active crater of Villarrica, 2,840 m above sea level with 1,500 meters of vertical gain. Skiing a volcano that is still breathing is an experience that's hard to compare with anything else. In the afternoon, local hot springs and free time in Pucón.

  7. Day 6
    On to Malalcahuello

Transfer north to Malalcahuello, the base of operations for the Llaima and Lonquimay volcanoes. In the afternoon, a short tour through the nearby valleys to stretch our legs and read the terrain for the days ahead.

  8. Day 7
    Volcán Llaima

Attempt on Llaima via Conguillío: 2,000 meters of climbing and one of the best descents in Chile. A huge volcano, open terrain, and a run that justifies having crossed half the country.

  9. Day 8
    Volcán Lonquimay

Ascent of Lonquimay with 1,400 meters of vertical gain and the chance to ski inside a secondary crater, something very few riders can say they've done. This day also serves as a weather buffer if any earlier day required it.

  10. Day 9
    Wrap-Up and Return

Transfer to Temuco airport for connections or departure. The expedition ends with tired legs, a full head, and the urge to come back fully intact.
