Itinerary
-
Day 1
We leave Bariloche for Pampa Linda. The drive takes about 2.5 hours, through scenery unlike what you're used to. We cross the Río Alerce and start climbing toward Ilon. After two hours of climbing, we reach an amazing lenga forest. We skirt Cerro del Viento until we reach camp on the shore of the lagoon. How's the group feeling? Shall we squeeze in one more lap? Estimated time: 4-6 hrs.
-
Days 2 and 3
What could be better than waking up here with the whole day to ski? After breakfast, we get ready to explore the area. Some options are climbing Cerro Punta Negra, Mocho Tumbado, skiing the forests of Cerro del Viento, or lapping some great descents to Mallín de Ricardo. We'll always look for the best lines based on mountain conditions. Estimated time: As much as your legs have in them!

Day 4
After a hearty breakfast, we get ready for some farewell turns here. After lunch, we head down to Pampa Linda and drive back to Bariloche in our vehicles. Estimated time: 8 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions
Food in the mountains
We recommend bringing snacks of your choice to round out your days in the mountains, along with any treats you truly enjoy. Eating well is key to keeping your energy up in the backcountry. And to combat loss of appetite, it's best to have a variety of foods to choose from, from sweet to tart to salty.
Overnight stays during the tour
The Ilon domes have all the services you'll need. Dinner and breakfast are included in the package.
Travel insurance and rescue insurance
We require you to purchase insurance plans to protect you from the unexpected. Check with your insurance company for any specific questions about coverage and policy details, and if you have any questions, contact us.
Can I rent gear?
Yes: skis/skins/bindings, splitboard, safety kit (shovel, avalanche beacon, and probe). Ask us about prices and availability. Depending on the amount of snow, you may have to hike with your skis on your pack. For this activity, we recommend a comfortable backpack that can carry your board or split. You'll also need good footwear to approach the snow and to hike down from the hut. Ask us about prices and availability.
