Itinerary

  1. Option 1
Cerro López - Filo de las Cabras

The day's adventure is reaching Filo de las Cabras. We start on the classic trail to Refugio López, then branch off to cross one of its rarely visited slopes, which gives us incredible views and a fresh look at a familiar place from a spot few people get to reach. Distance: 10 km · Elevation gain: +800 m · Duration: 6–8 hrs

  2. Option 2
    Cerro Ventana

We start the hike from Villa Lago Gutiérrez, near National Route 40. For the first few hours the trail is fairly steep, then eases as we approach "La Ventana". We walk through a beautiful cypress forest, in a transition zone between the steppe and the Andean forest. Distance: 7 km · Elevation gain: +600 m · Duration: 4–6 hrs The views from the top are stunning: Lago Gutiérrez, Bariloche and the entire Cordón de Catedral.

  3. Option 3
    Cerro Goye

The trail starts at Colonia Suiza. For the first part of the route we follow the path to Laguna Negra, then head up the valley toward the col between Cerro Bellavista and Goye. We walk through a beautiful lenga forest on gentle terrain. From the col, the views are already stunning. We then follow the ridge to the summit of Cerro Goye. From here we have an excellent viewpoint over Lago Nahuel Huapi, Moreno and the Bariloche area. Distance: 12 km · Elevation gain: +900 m · Duration: 6–8 hrs

  4. Option 4
    Cerro Bella Vista

We start the hike from Tambo de Báez, very close to Bariloche. The climb is somewhat steep up to the ridge. Then it eases off, rewarding us with one of the best views in the area. This outing is a bit more demanding than its neighbor, Cerro Goye. Depending on transportation, it is also possible to link both mountains in a single day. Distance: 9 km · Elevation gain: +900 m · Duration: 6–8 hrs

  5. Option 5
    Cerro López - Pico Turista

We start the hike from Arroyo López, following the trail to the refuge. From there the terrain changes noticeably: it becomes rockier and more exposed. Once we reach the ridge, we traverse to Pico Turista, an excellent viewpoint over Tronador, Brazo Tristeza, Lago Nahuel Huapi, Moreno and the Bariloche area. Distance: 12 km · Elevation gain: +1.200 m · Duration: 8–12 hrs

  6. Option 6
    Cerro López via Palotinos

One of the best treks in Bariloche. Also the most demanding! We start the hike from Bahía López, following the trail toward Mirador del Tristeza. From here we begin climbing a rocky, exposed ridge. Along the way there are short scrambles to get past rock walls. Once we reach the ridge, we traverse to Pico Turista, then descend to the refuge and return via the trail to Arroyo López. Distance: 7 km · Elevation gain: +1.200 m · Duration: 8–12 hrs
