Domuyo Volcano has a remarkable height that earned it the name of the \u201croof of Patagonia\u201d and is, without doubt, one of the most challenging climbs for mountaineers. This ascent is framed in the unique scenery that is the Cordillera (mountain range) del Viento, with its thermal springs, geysers and fumaroles.<\/span><\/p>\n

This programme includes a couple of height adaptation days before we adventure into the climb itself. Also, there are some incredible spots to visit in the area nearby, like the Epulafquen lakes, a plus that you shouldn\u2019t miss. However, do not hesitate to ask for a tailor-made experience.<\/span><\/p>\n

Extra Day:<\/b> The same day we return from Camp Base, we\u2019ll head to the Epulafqen lakes. Two smaller lakes located in Minas district, Neuquen, Argentina, right on the Andes mountain range close to the border with Chile. These are protected as a part of a provincial park where we\u2019ll have the chance to camp. Here, the options are many but will mainly depend on group motivation. One of the prettier is a trekking activity to the border with Chile, through Vacalaufquen lake. An incredible lookout for the Nevados de Chillan.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Food in the mountains<\/b><\/p>\n

We recommend packing your snacks of choice for those long days in the mountains. The same goes for your favorite beverages. Eating well is key for keeping your strength up out in the wild. And to cope with the loss of appetite, the best you can have is a wide variety of food at your disposal, from sweet to sour and salty. Carrying at least 2 liters if water is essential.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Accommodation during the trip<\/b><\/p>\n

In Las Ovejas, we\u2019ll be staying in a hotel with all the amenities. During the days in the mountains we\u2019ll sleep in domes. They are built with an insulated floor where we\u2019ll only need to use our mats.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Travel and rescue insurance<\/b><\/p>\n
